NSW website migrated

Announcing the migration of the NSW website

The ARC recently launched a brand new website at http://www.rostrum.com.au in Australia’s most popular and widely used domain “.com.au”.  The National webmaster Keith Kube from Tasmanian Rostrum was the driving force for this change.

The information from the New South Wales website was updated for 2006 and migrated to the new domain in January.

The key improvement is a clean look and feel using the Plone™ open-source content management system that will allow members and visitors to find information quickly and also to allow Rostrum to provide member-only information together with public promotion of our Clubs and services. 

Changes include club folders where Club users can create their own public promotion pages, together with documents that can be shared with their Club members, via the internet.  Other areas are reserved for members only.   Pre-registered Rostrum members will have access to the selective information on the NSW Resources page.

Resources for members include newsletters (back to 2002), handbooks, Q&A, brochures,  Critics First Aid Kit, links to other speakers’ sites and NSW Constitution and model Club bylaws.  We will add to this list as material becomes available.

The new site is fully searchable and has News and Events panels to help flag Rostrum events.

All the old favourites are still there – A Club Listing, Diary of Events, How to Join, Voice of Youth, Courses and Contacts.

Our new site offers the usual opportunity for photo albums and discussion forums and dynamic pages which can be updated from a database.
