Better Presentations is the third speaking-skills program in the Rostrum Development series. With its companion development programs, Confident Speaking and Successful Meetings it forms part of the Gateway to Success Suite and provides the next step to providing members with a set of communications skills that will serve them well in their private and business lives.

Better Presentations is based around a series of competencies designed to enhance those skills already possessed by many members, especially those who have already completed the Confident Speaking and Successful Meetings programs.

The competencies outlined in this program are essential for people in business as they focus on the forms of spoken communications most frequently used in a work setting.
Further information about these competencies can be found in existing Rostrum and external publications.
The competency-based approach of Better Presentations requires members to demonstrate a set of criteria that together make up a completed Members Development Program allowing the achiever to qualify for a certificate.

The details of how these competencies should be completed appear at the back of this booklet.
Competency based training is increasingly important today with employers wanting to see evidence of satisfactory completion of training and development programs by employees.
