Club 10 - Presentation Skills Club
Unfortunately, time, resources and training are not always available to develop, hone and practise this valuable skill.
The opportunities available within Rostrum will help you become more proficient in crafting a speech, giving presentations, thinking, speaking at short notice and all aspects of meeting procedure.
Some members have joined in retirement to simply sharpen their thought processes and maintaining an active mind, others need to speak or give presentations as part of their employment.
So, if you want to improve your skills in getting your message across more effectively using some form of presentation medium
Our Meetings are divided into three main sections
- The Presentation Program, provides the opportunity to practise communication & presentation skills using PowerPoint or other visual aids. This is achieved by way of prepared presentations on a topic of your choosing ranging in length from 15 – 30 minutes.
- The Business Section, helps members with meeting procedure skills i.e. chairing meetings, taking minutes, framing motions and presenting reports.
- The Criticism; the Critic provides constructive, friendly feedback to help the speaker/presenter improve. This enables members to know what they have done well and to take advice on how their presentation could be improved.
