Rostrum SA Speaker of the Year is the premier public speaking competition for Rostrum members!
The Rostrum SA Speaker of the Year will be held
- on Saturday 10th October 2009
- at the Burnside Community Centre, on the corner of Greenhill & Portrush Roads, Tusmore
(Near car park and behind the Burnside Town Hall) - 7:00pm for 7:30pm.
The competition comprises a 10 minute prepared speech (with a warning bell at 8 minutes) and a 3 minute short notice speech.
The speech titles for the prepared speeches are as follows:
- Clearing the air
- Digging up the dirt
- A modern miracle
- Send in the clowns
- Learning from history
Semi-final heats were held on Saturday 22nd August 2009. The successful contestants, whom you will hear in the State Final, are:
- Gill Harvie (Clubs 1, 32)
- David Knight (Club 3)
- Roger Stanning (Club 9)
- Ron Johnson (Clubs 20, 10)
- James Goldfinch (Club 23)
- Tony Anderson (Club 26)
