Come and see - and hear - the best speakers from six of Victoria’s leading Rostrum clubs as they go head-to-head in a triathlon of excellence in oral communication.
Each year the best Rostrum speakers in Melbourne’s east and Gippsland get together to share their finest words. This year, they are meeting on the evening of Tuesday July 22nd in Vermont South. Fortunately, these skilled speakers have invited all Rostrum members and their friends to come along and listen.
The Gil Lee-Archer Trophy is named in honour of the late Gil Lee-Archer, a Life Member of Rostrum Club 53, Vermont South, and a vigorous proponent of the correct use of the English language.
Each speaker will present:
- A ten minutes set subject speech
- A 3 minutes reading and
- A 3 minutes short notice speech.
The overall winner will be awarded the Gil Lee-Archer Trophy for 2008. The winner of the 10 minutes set subject speech will go on to represent the Eastern Region at the Jo Davis Cup in August.
