Rostrum's Student Development Program for Secondary School Students.

A message regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Rostrum is painfully aware that we are experiencing an unprecedented global health and social situation, which is rapidly changing. We have been monitoring the situation closely and in order to protect the health, safety and well-being of all those involved it has been determined that the 2020 Rostrum Voice of Youth activities will be cancelled (in all states and territories, with the exception of Queensland where local competitions will be held pending further health information and in Tasmania where local competitions will be held later in the year when health directives allow.) This is a sad decision that has not been taken lightly. We look forward to providing an opportunity for the voice of Australia’s young people to be heard in Rostrum Voice of Youth in 2021.

When you enter the Rostrum Voice of Youth you will choose a speech topic and present either

a Prepared speech of 6 minutes - JUNIORS (aged 11 years as at 1/1/2020 and in years 7, 8 or 9);

or 8 minutes - SENIORS (under 18 years of age as at 1/1/2020 and in years 10, 11 or 12); and a

Short notice speech - 3 minutes - (Juniors & Seniors, preparation time of 15 minutes).

The winners of a state competition have the opportunity to compete against top speakers from other States.

The Grand Final of the 2020 competition will be held in Canberra.
