Rostrum's Student Development Program for Secondary School Students
We are pleased to announce that the SA/NT Rostrum Voice of Youth Public Speaking Competition is back in 2021, having been cancelled last year due to the COVID virus. Our primary aim is to protect the health, safety and well-being of all those involved in the competition as competitors, officials, teachers or supporters. Accordingly, please note that by entering the Voice of Youth, you are agreeing to abide by the COVID-Safe protocols of the competition and of the individual schools hosting the heats. Further details will be provided prior to each heat / final.
At every stage of the competition contestants are required to present a
Prepared speech - 6 minutes - JUNIORS (aged 11 years or over as at 1/1/21 and in years 7, 8 or 9)
- 8 minutes - SENIORS (under 18 years of age as at 1/1/21 and in years 10, 11 or 12)
Short notice speech - 3 minutes - (Juniors & Seniors, preparation time of 15 minutes)

Additional Information
- Adelaide Heats will be held Saturday 8 May and may extend to Sunday 9 May, depending on number of registrations
- REGISTRATION IS ONLINE click here to register Entries are now closed.
- Entry fee of $25 per student is payable via direct credit (preferable) or cheque. Invoices will be issued to schools after entries close on 30 March 2021
- Cash prizes are awarded to Heat, Semi-Final, SA/NT Zone Final and National Final winners
- Travel costs to Adelaide for NT and country entrants to compete in the heats, semi-finals & SA/NT Zone Final will be subsidised.
- If applicable, SA/NT Zone Junior & Senior winners will have accommodation & travel expenses paid to attend the National Final.
