Welcome to Club 14!
We are a small, friendly supportive club with a mix of newer and experienced members. We offer the opportunity for people to practise public speaking in a relaxed and non-threatening environment.
Why Join Rostrum Club 14?
If you are keen to develop your communication skills with the encouragement of a small supportive group of people, then Club 14 may be for you. If you are not normally a morning person, come along and leave inspired, ready to face your day!
Where do Club 14 meet?
Club 14 meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 7.45am – 8.45am at Seven Monks, 120 Hobart Road. Breakfast is available. Park for free in Hobart Rd or behind the café. Some members need to leave early to go to work so we have the speaking program first, so you won’t miss an opportunity to participate. If you would like to join us please contact Jenny by email or call her on 0417 160 707
What do Members speak about at Club 14?
The program is tailored to suit the needs of the members. One option is to follow a personal development program, practise a speech for a special occasion or speak on a topic of your choice. Some members prefer impromptu speeches. Training sessions are provided to enhance skill development.
What is Club 14’s best Public Speaking Tip?
Be yourself! If you are interested and enthusiastic about your topic, your audience will want to listen to what you have to say and be supportive of your speaking activities.
What makes Club 14 special?
Club 14 was awarded the top club in Tasmania for our creative programming, membership growth, impact in the community and support for Rostrum activities, such as Rostrum Voice of Youth.
Visitors are most welcome!
Visitors won’t have to give a speech at the first meeting, or even the second – only when you are ready
