What is Rostrum Voice of Youth?

Rostrum Voice of Youth is a national speaking competition which provides an excellent opportunity for secondary school students to gain experience and confidence in expressing their views and communicating a message.

Help us celebrate our 50th year of Rostrum Voice of Youth.

April 3rd 2024 (Burnie), April 10th for Launceston & Hobart.

At every stage of the competition contestants are required to present a:

  • Prepared speech
    • 6 minutes  – JUNIORS  (aged 11 years or over as at 1/1/23 and in years 7, 8 or 9)
    • 8 minutes  – SENIORS (under 18 years of age as at 1/1/23 and in years 10, 11 or 12)
  • Short notice speech   3 minutes – Juniors & Seniors, preparation time of 15 minutes

Regional Finals:  Burnie April 11th         Hobart May 11th      Launceston May 4th.

State Final:            Launceston June 15th

National Final:  Hobart:  July 27th.
